Moving beyond mapping
Article Abstract:
SOILTEQ, a unit of Minnetonka, MN-based AgChem Equipment Company Inc, has released SGIS Version 3. The system, described as a data management software instead of a mapping software, will help ag product dealers make more use of site-specific data that they have collected over the years. SOILTEQ's SGIS Version 3, introduced at a ceremony held in Jackson, MN, on Jun 7, 2000, took over 18 months to create in order to integrate a whole new set of specifications and requirements.

Dekalb chooses residue proven hybrids for 2001
Article Abstract:
Dekalb Genetics Corp is planning to offer corn hybrids to help growers concerned about high diesel and labor costs select the best hybrids to plant in reduced tillage systems. The hybrids have been proven to produce exceptional yields in high-residue conditions. They will be offered to become part of the Residue Proven program for soybeans and corn which may be helpful in the seed selection process for reduced-tillage system.

Bt on the back burner
Article Abstract:
Less acreage may be devoted to biotech corn in 2000, but not entirely because of the controversy surrounding biotech crops. In Europe, a decline in corn borer infestations is making it more economical for growers to buy non-Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) corn. Some growers, however, are staying with Bt corn, figuring out that they will be in a better position when a European corn borer infestation breaks out.
