NMR study of the adsorption-desorption kinetics of dissolved tetraalanine in MCM-41 mesoporous material
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to show the way in which deuterium magic-angle spinning NMR spectroscopy can be used to investigate the adsorption-desorption kinetics of molecules in solution at surface-liquid interface. An aqueous solution of deuterium-labeled tetraalanine was inserted in the pores of MCM-41 mesoporous material, and its (super 2)H MAS NMR spectrum was measured as a function of temperature and fraction of filling the pores.

Conformation and orientation of teraalanine in a lyotropic liquid crystal studied by nuclear magnetic resonance
Article Abstract:
Liquid-crystal nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is used to investigate the conformation and orientation of tetraalanine in a lyotropic phase. The results show that the molecule is oriented with the long molecular axis tilted with respect to the surface of the micelles formed by lyotropic system cesium pentadecafluorooctanoate (CsPFO)/water.

The influence of monomer structures on the liquid crystalline order of aramide polymers: an NMR analysis
Article Abstract:
The liquid crystalline behaviour of poly(p-phenylene-2,6-naphthylamide) and poly(p-phenylene-4,4'-biphenylamide) has been assessed using natural abundance NMR techniques. The nematic order of polymers in these lyotropic phases is independent of temperature and marginally dependent on concentration.
