J-aggregates in Langmuir-Blodgett films of a merocyanine dye without metallic cations: using FT-IR to observe changes in the electronic structure of the molecules upon aggregation
Article Abstract:
Langmuir-Blodgett films of mixtures of fatty acids and a merocyanine dye with one long alkyl chain and one carboxylic group show a very anisotropic J-band near 605 nm. Merocyanine dye-fatty acid complexes and intermolecular hydrogen bonding may play a key role in metal-free J-aggregation.

Interlayer energy transfer between carbazole and two 9-anthroyloxy derivatives in Langmuir-Blodgett films
Article Abstract:
Issues arising from the study of the interlayer excitation energy transfer between a carbazole derivative, 11-(9-carbazole)undecanoic acid, and two 9-anthroyloxy derivatives in Langmuir-Blodgett films are discussed. Four models were used to analyze the decay curves.
