Nanoparticle formation and zeolite growth in TEOS/organocation/water solutions

Article Abstract:

A study investigates nanoparticle formation and zeolite growth in several tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)/organocation/water solutions heated at 368 K by using small-angle X-ray scattering. The results reveal that the solutions studied behave dramatically differently from TEOS/TPAOH/water solutions in their ability to nucleate and grow a zeolite phase and all solutions studied form stable suspensions of silica nanoparticles.

Silicate-1 growth form clear solution: Effect of the structure-directing agent on growth kinetics

Article Abstract:

Small-angle X-ray scattering are used to quantify how perturbations of the tetrapropylammonium (TPA) cation structure affect the growth of silicate-1 from clear solution at 368 K. The results indicate that a high degree of structure-directing agent (SDA) structural specificity is necessary to form silicate-1 from clear solutions at 368 K, something not observed for syntheses at higher temperatures.

Synthesis, characterization, and growth rates of aluminum- and Ge,Al-substituted silicalite-1 materials grown from clear solutions

Article Abstract:

The synthesis, characterization, and growth rates of aluminum- and germanium,aluminum-substituted silicalite-1 (Al-silicalite-1, Ge,Al-silicalite-1) materials grown from clear solutions are presented. The results have provided insights about how one can design silicalite-1 nanoparticles with sufficient heteroatom content to be drelevant for catalysis.
