Nanosphere lithography: tunable localized surface plasmon resonance spectra of silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The wavelength corresponding to the extinction maximum, lambda(sub max), of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of silver nanoparticle arrays fabricated by nanosphere lithography (NSL) can be systematically tuned from ~400 nm to 6000 nm. The results demonstrate an unprecedented level of wavelength agility in nanoparticle optical response throughout the visible, near-infrared, and mid-infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering detected temperatures programmed desorption: optical properties, nanostructure, and stability of silver film over SiO2 nanosphere surface

Article Abstract:

Silver films over silica nanosphere (AgFON) surfaces are shown to be thermally stable, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)-active substrates that are suitable for use in ultrahigh vacuum conditions are presented. The electromagnetic enhancement mechanism is the most likely origin of the SER spectra from benzene, pyridine and C60 adsorbed on AgFON surfaces.

Nanosphere lithography: effect of substrate on the localized surface plasmon resonance spectrum of silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The optical contributions of the substrate to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) spectrum of surface confined silver (Ag) nanoparticles produced by nanosphere lithography (NSL) and the optical extinction spectra of Ag nanoparticles fabricated on fused silica, borosilicate optical glass, mica and SF-10 substrates, is explored.
