Near equiatomic FeCo nanocrystalline alloy embedded in an alumina aerogel matrix: Microstructure features and related magnetic properties
Article Abstract:
FeCo-Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) nanocomposite aerogels were studied by high-resolution electron microscopy, energy filtered transmission electron microscopy, Mossbauer spectroscopy and measurements of static magnetizations and hysteretic behavior. Sample characteristics such as alloy composition and crystallinity, influence of the matrix on the structural evolution and resulting magnetic properties were investigated as a function of the temperature and time of the reduction treatment.

Surface characteristics of activated carbons obtained by pyrolysis of plasma pretreated PET
Article Abstract:
Activated carbon materials were prepared by pyrolysis of plasma pretreated recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). Results revealed that the carbon materials obtained by He, N2 and CO2 plasma pretreatments of the precursor and subsequent pyrolysis showed a higher adsorption capacity than the untreated pyrolised PET.
