Photoinduced surface dynamics of CO adsorbed on a platinum electrode

Article Abstract:

The sum-frequency generation response of CO adsorbed is investigated on a platinum electrode surface in an electrolyte solution to irradiation of intense visible pulses as in the time resolution of approximately 20 ps. Upon visible pulse irradiation, the population of onto CO instantly decreases accompanied by an increase in multibonded CO due to the transient temperature jump at the surface.

Structure and reactivity of alkoxycarbonyl (ester)-terminated monolayers on silicon: Sum frequency generation spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Carboxylic acid-terminated monolayers on crystalline silicon surfaces are prepared by acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of alkoxycarbonyl (ester)-terminated monolayers and its structures are studied by vibrational sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy. The results show that SFG is capable of providing quantitative information on structure-reactivity correlations in organic monolayers.

Comprehensive study of the formation and reaction of a tethered N-hydroxysulfosuccinimidyl ester used to covalently tether proteins to surfaces

Article Abstract:

A recent progress on the understanding of the carbodiimide coupling reaction frequently used to form a surface-tethered active N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide ester and the subsequent substitution of the active ester with various nucleophiles in solution is presented. These studies were carried out using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
