Polymorphism - necessary evil or great opportunity?
Article Abstract:
Traditional analytical methods such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and X-ray powder diffraction cannot detect the polymorphism, or the different physical forms, of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). Screening methods for polymorphism are provided by specialist companies such as Pharmaterials. The negative effects and potential benefits of polymorphism are also disscused.

Tetrapeptides to combat skin ageing
Article Abstract:
Laboratoires Serobiologiques has developed two new tetrapeptides, Dermican and Glycerin Acetyl (and) Tetrapeptide-11, which have anti-aging properties. The two play significant roles in increasing collagen functionality via the synthesis of proteoglycans lumican and sundecan-1. Their effects on the dermis and epidermis levels are discussed.
