Propeller-like multicomponent microstructures: Self-assemblies of nanoparticles of poly(vinyl alcohol)-coated Ag and/or [Cu.sub.2]O
Article Abstract:
Novel propeller-like multicomponent microstructures, which are actually self-assemblies of nanoparticles of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-coated Ag and/or [Cu.sub.2]O, are synthesized in aqueous solution of amphiphilic polyvinylacetone (PVKA). PVA chains are obtained from hydrolyzed PVKA and the room temperature photoluminescence spectrum is applied to explore their optical property.

Nanoparticles-assembled capsule synthesis: Formation of colloidal polyamine-salt intermediates
Article Abstract:
The first step of nanoparticle assembled capsule synthesis (NAC), the formation of salt-polymer aggregates, was studied by using poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH). The anions bind to the PAH backbone via counterion condensation and the resulting PAH-salt complex combine to form colloidal aggregates.
