Quenching of photoluminescence in conjugates of quantum dots and single-walled carbon nanotube

Article Abstract:

The controlled conjugation of CdSe-ZnS quantum dots (QDs) to sidewall-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) templates and the effect of conjugation of QDs to SWCNT on the photoluminescence (PL) properties of QDs are reported. The PL quenching of QDs in QD-SWCNT conjugates is found to be important during the nanofabrication of QD- and SWCNT-based hybrid materials.

Carbothermal chemical vapor deposition route to Se one-dimensional nanostructures and their optical properties

Article Abstract:

A simple and practical carbothermal chemical vapor deposition route is developed for the growth of trigonal phase selenium nanowires and nanoribbons. The results suggest that trigonal Se nanowires have uniform diameters ranging from 20 to 60 nm and grow along the [001] direction, with the same growth direction found for nanoribbons.

Solution-phase sythesis and electrochemical hydrogen storage of ultra-long single-crystal selenium submicrotubes

Article Abstract:

A simple and practical solution-phase route to trigonal phase ultra-long selenium submicrotubes with the assistance of Tween-20 is demonstrated. The observations show that the final products are the t-Se tubular structure with a length of over 100 mu m.
