Radiationless decay in exciplexed with variable charge transfer

Article Abstract:

The rate constants for radiative decay, radiationless decay, and intersystem crossing for a range of excited states formed by reaction of cyanoanthracene acceptors with alkylbenzenes as donors in different solvents of moderate to low polarity are presented. The basic parameters that govern the rate constants for radiationless decay in excited states with intermediate charge-transfer character are described.

Effects of pressure and temperature on the solubility of alkylbenzenes in water: Volumetric property of hydrophobic hydration

Article Abstract:

The volumetric property of hydrophobic hydration is determined by examining the effects of temperature and pressure on the solubility of alkylbenzenes in water. Results show that as the temperature increases, water becomes less compressible, thus displaying that the weakening or disappearance of the unique property of water under hydrophobic hydration.

Solubility of phosphonium ionic liquid in alcohols, benzene, and alkylbenzenes

Article Abstract:

The binary mixtures containing quaternary phosphonium salt- tetrabutylphosphonium methanesulfonate and alcohols or alkylbenzenes were analyzed for solid-liquid phase and liquid-liquid phase equilibria. The aromatic hydrocarbons were used to detect the immiscibility of solid-liquid equilibria with immiscibility in the liquid phase.
