Red antenna states of photosystem I from cyanobacteria synechocystis PCC 6803 and thermosynechococcus elongates: Single-complex spectroscopy and spectral hole-burning study

Article Abstract:

Hole-burning and single photosynthetic complex spectroscopy are used to study the excitonic structure and excitation energy-transfer processes of cyanobacterial trimeric Photosystem I (PS I) complexes from Synechocystis PCC 6803 and Thermosynechococcus elongates at low temperatures. It is found that high-quality samples obtained by dissolving crystals of PS I of Thermosynechococcus elongates exhibit stronger absorption in the red antenna region.

New insights on persistent nonphotochemical hole burning and its application to photosynthetic complexes

Article Abstract:

The results for Al-phthalocyanine tetrasulfonate (APT) in hyperquenched glassy water (HGW) that provide new insights on the mechanism of nanophotochemical hole burning (NPHB) are presented. An attempt is made to determine how the structural disorder of amorphous solids leads to highly dispersive kinetics for hole growth.

The influence of solvent polarity and metalation on energy and electron transfer in porphyrin-phthalocyanine heterotrimers

Article Abstract:

The photophysical investigation results of two novel non-sandwich-type porphyrin-phthalocyanine heterotriads in which two meso-tetraphenylporphyrin rings ([H.sub.2]TPP or ZnTPP) are linked to the central silicon atom of a silicon(IV) phthalocyanince core is presented.
