Reorganization energy induced by noncovalent bonding interaction in electron transfer reactions

Article Abstract:

A model for calculating a component of the electron-transfer reorganization energy derived from the reversible process of noncovalent bond formation/dissociation between the reactant and hydrogen bonding donor or ligand is proposed. The reorganization/dissociation of the noncovalent-bonded complex is calculated by studying the chemical equilibrium change during the electron-transfer reaction.

Laser-induced dissociation of an energetic polymer: A spectroscopic study of the gaseous products

Article Abstract:

The shock wave produced from a diluted polymer of glycidyl azido polymer (GAP) laser-induced decomposition is more energetic than from the neat polymer and its energy disposal into molecular products is measured using spectroscopic methods. The initial velocity and internal energy content of small diatomic molecules is larger in some diluted polymers than in the neat one is observed.

Quenching of semiconductor quantum dot photoluminescence by a pi-conjugated polymer

Article Abstract:

The possibility of hole transfer between a photoexcited semiconductor quantum dot and a pi-conjugated polymer is discussed. The result suggests that the polymer and the quantum dot form a relatively stable complex.
