Resolution of the association equilibria of 2-(p-toluidinyl)-naphthalene-6-sulfonate (TNS) with beta-cyclodextrin and a charged derivative

Article Abstract:

A complete study on the complexation of 2-(p-toluidinyl)-naphthalene-6-sulfonate (TNS) with beta-cyclodextrin (CD) is carried out with emphasis on the determination of the first complexation site. The study concluded that the resolution of the complicated TNS-beta-CD system has been achieved by systematic analysis of steady state and time-resolved fluorescence data, together with NMR data.

Specific interactions in the inclusion complexes of pyronines Y and B with Beta-cyclodextrin

Article Abstract:

The formation of inclusion complexes between pyronines Y and B and beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) and the nature of the interactions involved are observed in a study. The study aims to characterize the photophysical properties of these pyronines when included in the hydrophobic cavity of beta-CD, to discuss the guest-host interactions involved in the formation of the complexes.

Dye-exchange dynamics in micellar solutions studied by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) is used to investigate the dye-exchange dynamics between rhodamine 123 (R123), a mitochondrial fluorescent dye, and micelles as membrane mimetic systems. The micelles are found to behave as soft supramolecular cages in contrast to other rigid supramolecular cavities, with respect to the dye-exchange dynamics.
