Searching for periodic structures in beta-peptides
Article Abstract:
Free energy surfaces for various blocked beta-peptide hexamers is generated for the first time employing a multidimensional conformational free energy thermodynamic integration approach on the basis of free energy gradient maps. The free energy surfaces show the structural and energetic relationships between the various secondary structure types and their mutual transformation possibilities.

Conformational free energy surfaces of Ala(sub 10) and Aib(sub 10) peptide helices in solution
Article Abstract:
The conformational free energy surfaces of regular peptide helices in solution like Ala(sub 10) and Aib(sub 10) peptides are described using the multidimensional conformational free energy thermodynamic integration (CFTI) method. The analysis of the energetic and structural features of the different helices resulted in the microscopic explanation of the stability differences.

The mechanism of triplet energy transfer from the special pair to the carotenoid in bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers
Article Abstract:
The measurements of the triplet energy transfer kinetics from the primary electron donor P to the carotenoid have been performed in the M182HL mutant of Rhodobacter sphaeroides. Activation energy for the triplet energy transfer has been discussed.
