SiO2 nanowires growing on hexagonally arranged circular patterns surrounded by TiO2 films

Article Abstract:

An effective approach is demonstrated for the synthesis of novel composite architectures, SiO2 nanowires (NWs) growing on hexagonally arranged circular patterns surround by TiO2 films on Si substrate. The SiO2 NWs can not only combine the photoluminescence (PL) properties of the two components but also present more favorable PL emission, laying a foundation for realizing advanced nano-optoelectronic devices.

Quantum chemical study of photoinjection processes in dye-sensitized TiO2 nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Results from quantum chemical INDO/S-CI calculations of the absorption properties of anatase TiO2 nanoparticles sensitized by catechol and benzoic are described. Catechol causes a strong shift in the TiO2 absorption threshold, while benzoic acid does not, explained from the calculations, which indicate that only catechol introduces electronic levels in the TiO2 band gap are experimentally observed.

Photoinitiated reactions of 2,4,6 TCP on Degussa P25 formulation TiO2; Wavelength-sensitive decomposition

Article Abstract:

The photoinitiated reactions of 2,4,6 trichlorophenol (2,4,6 TCP) and 2,4,5 trichlorophenol (2,4,5 TCP) are studied on the titania photocatalyst Degussa P25. The two trichlorophenols analyzed exhibit a photoinduced charged transfer product and a photocatalytic oxidation product.
