Covalent HCl at the surface of crystalline ice at 125 K: the stable phase at submonolayer levels
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze HCl on the surface of ice nanocrystals near 125 K by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Difference spectra were obtained by comparing ice samples with less than monolayer coverages of DCl with bare ice samples. Results indicated that covalently adsorbed DCI as the thermodynamically stable form for submonolayer exposures at 125 K. Findings also confirmed the presence of a band for the CDl internal stretch mode, thus, suggesting that DCl is covalent in nature.

Lyotropic and thermotropic phase behavior of hydrated monoacylglycerols: structure characterization of monovaccenin
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the lyotropic and thermotropic phase dynamics of hydrated monoacylglycerols and characterize monovaccenin. Dry solid monovaccenin was mixed with specific amounts of water in a syringe-based mixing system. Copper K-alpha x-rays in the line and point focus modes were utilized to determine the diffraction data. Experimental results indicated that monovaccenin can support a role as controlled-release drug carries and in crystallization media.
