Structure and electronic properties of solid acids based on tungsten oxide nanostructures

Article Abstract:

UV-visible diffuse reflectance and Raman spectroscopies are used to determine the domain size and structure of WO(sub x) species. The acid-catalyzed reaction rates are then analyzed to see if they depend on bonding between WO(sub x) species and WO(sub x) domain size. The results show that the WO(sub x) domain size is controlled only by WO(sub x) surface density and it is not influenced independently by WO(sub x) concentration, oxidation temperature and ZrO(sub 2) surface area.

Isotopic tracer studies of propane reactions on H-ZSM5 zeolite

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to show that the chain growth and cyclization reactions on H-ZSM5 zeolite correlate with the initial formation of the corresponding alkene and its role in the rapid oligomerization/beta-scission reactions before cyclization. Kinetic studies on H-ZSM5 catalysts were carried out in a gradientless recirculating reactor. Results indicated that the occurrence of propane aromatization is influenced by a complex reaction sequence.

Synthesis, structure and catalytic reactivity of isolated V(super 5+)-oxo species prepared by sublimation of VOCl3 onto H-ZSM5

Article Abstract:

Isolated and uniform V(super 5+)-oxo species are grafted onto H-ZSM5 at V/Al(sub f) ratios of 0.2-1 via sublimation of VOCl3 precursors and the structure of grafted V(super 5+)-oxo species is probed by using spectroscopic and titration methods. Sublimation methods led to stable and active V-ZSM5 catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation (OHD) reactions.
