Synthesis and structural characterization of MWW type zeolite ITQ-1, the pure silica analog of MCM-22 and SSZ-25
Article Abstract:
Experiments were conducted to describe the synthesis of the MWW type zeolite ITQ-1, the pure silica analog of MCM-22 and SSZ-25. The chemical structure was examined using the Rietveld method. The utilization of MCM-22's organic structure-directing agent HMI and the TMAda+ reduced the crystallization time for the zeolite to three days. Anisotropic line broadening was observed in the samples. The findings showed that the TMAda+ structure-directing agent can bring about the successful synthesis of ITQ-1 even in the absence of alkali ions.

Diffusion of benzene and propylene in MCM-22 zeolite. A molecular dynamics study
Article Abstract:
The diffusion of a blend of benzene and propylene, for the cumene synthesis process, in MCM-22 zeolite was investigated via molecular dynamics simulations. Results revealed a large diffusivity for propylene in two channels contained it MCM-22. In contrast, benzene did not diffuse in either of the two channel systems. These findings suggest that the formation of cumene most likely transpires at or near the external surface of the MCM-22 zeolite crystals.

Diffusion of octane in silicalite: a molecular dynamics study
Article Abstract:
Results reveal that diffusion of octane in silicalite is greater at 300 K and 450 K in the sinusoidal and the straight channels respectively. Data further show that with increasing temperature the diffusion coefficients also increase in both channels reaching 1.3 and 5.2 respectively.
