Synthesis of a sinter-resistant, mixed-oxide support for Au nanoclusters

Article Abstract:

The study prepared a TiO2-SiO2 thin film on a mo-(112) substrate and showed that Ti defects in the SIO2 surface can control the density of Au nanoclusters. Further the study presented that TiO2-SiO2 surface exhibits sinter-resistant properties for Au nanoclusters with respect to heating and exposure to elevated pressures of CO and O2.

Photolectrochemical oxidation of water at transparent ferric oxide film electrodes

Article Abstract:

A report on the fabrication of thin-film Fe2O3 photoanodes from the spray pyrolysis of Fe(III)-containing solutions is presented. It is found that the largest photocurrents were obtained from photoanodes prepared from ferric chloride precursor solutions, which were simultaneously doped with Ti(super 4+) (5%) and Al(super 3+) (1%).

Thin film water

Article Abstract:

Thin film water is ubiquitous and it has a profound effect on the physical and chemical properties of the substrates it covers. The studies reveal film thickness, hydrogen bonding networks, thermodynamic properties, and molecular orientations.
