Synthesis of icosahedral gold nanocrystals: A thermal process strategy

Article Abstract:

A one-step thermal process route is used in the synthesis of icosahedral gold nanocrystals. The gold nanostructures, with unique geometrical shapes, can be used in areas that include photonics, optoelectronics and optical sensing and the gold nanocrystals have a tendency to be immobilized spontaneously on the glass substrate.

Structural and morphological transitions in gold nanorods: A computer simulation study

Article Abstract:

Molecular dynamics simulations of the morphological and structural behavior of gold nanorods during continuous heating from 5 K to complete melting are reported. The simulation results suggest a mechanism that explains the intermediate products and the internal defects of gold nanorods observed in laser heating experiments.

Structural transformation of Au-Pd bimetallic nanoclusters on thermal heating and cooling: A dynamic analysis

Article Abstract:

Thermal effects and dynamic analysis of structural transformation of Au-Pd nanoclusters are investigated through classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The results have important implications on catalysis using Au-Pd and other similar bimetallic clusters.
