Tests of equations for the electrical conductance of electrolyte mixtures: Measurements of association of NaCl (Aq) and Na2SO4 (Aq) at high temperatures

Article Abstract:

Four models for the activity coefficients, two models for the conductivity of a single strong electrolyte and an equation for the change in equivalent conductivity on mixing single strong electrolyte are chosen to test the theoretical equations used to calculate the conductivity of a mixture of ions in low dielectric constant solvents for three ion mixtures.

Effect of membrane constitution on the direction of ionic transport across bipolar membranes

Article Abstract:

The study aimed to analyze the effect of the membrane constitution on the direction of the countertransport and the valence selectivity. It is reported that countertransport in a dialysis system consisting of a bipolar membrane and mixed NaCl, KCl, and CaCl2 electrolyte solutions has two modes.

Modeling the electrophoresis of short duplex DNA: counterions K(super +) and Tris(super +)

Article Abstract:

The behavior of DNA in KCl and Tris acetate to understand the difference in the electrophoretic mobility under different conditions is examined. Results show complex formation occurs not only between DNA and buffer but also between DNA and neutral salts.
