The application of Shannon's measure of information for a complex chemical system

Article Abstract:

Information theory and, specifically, Shannon's measure of information is used for the compare the interaction parameters (beta) in regular solution theory (RST) and Ingram's model for the mixture of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and Triton X-100 (TX100). Results reveal that beta values from regular solution theory are more accurate than those of Ingram's model.

Asymmetric ZnO nanostructures with an interior cavity

Article Abstract:

The fabrication of a new type of nanostructured zinc oxide (ZnO) is used to show a new wet synthetic scheme for architecture of asymmetric nanomaterials via solution processes. This synthetic architecture should be applicable to other II-VI compound semiconductors through stabilizing two or more sets of crystallographic planes in solution media.

Novel corresponding-states principle approach for the equation of state of isotopologues: [H.sub.2.sup.18]O as an example

Article Abstract:

The corresponding states principle (CSP) is used for constructing the equation of states (EOS) of minor isotopologues as it removes the restriction of the EOS-based method. The formalism and equations for isotopologues within the framework of CSP are described and applied to [super 18]O-substituted water([H.sub.2.sup.18]O).
