Thermal flux through a surface of n-octane. A non-equilibrium molecular dynamics study

Article Abstract:

The theory of non-equilibrium thermodynamics is used to describe the behavior of n-octane at the interface between liquid and vapor. The results support the basic assumptions in non-equilibrium thermodynamics and helps in giving the linear flux force relations of transport with surface tension dependent transfer coefficients.

A Gerischer phase element in the impedance diagram of the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell anode

Article Abstract:

The isothermal hydrogen adsorption and reaction at the E-TEK electrode of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell with a Nafion 117 membrane by impedance spectroscopy at 30 degrees Celsius is described. It is predicted and found that a relaxation time of the adsorption step is independent of the applied potential.

A simple correlation-corrected Poisson-Boltzmann theory

Article Abstract:

A simple approach is used to introduce effects of ion-ion correlations into the Poisson- Boltzmann theory. The mean field character of the theory is retained and correlations are approximated by an effective interaction potential, which differs from the Coulombic at short range.
