Interaction of Pt clusters with the anatase Ti[O.sub.2](101) surface: A first principles study
Article Abstract:
The adsorption of Pt.sub.n](n = 1-3) clusters on the defect-free anatase Ti[O.sub.2](101) surface was studied using total energy pseudopotetial calculations based on density functional theory. The increase in clustering energy with increasing size of the absorbed Pt clusters indicates that growth of Pt on this surface would lead to the formation of three-dimensional particles.

Morphology of nanostructured platinum in mesoporous material-effect of solvent and intrachannel surface
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the size and the morphology of nanostructured Pt metal that is highly dispersed in 1D hexagonal MCM-4I and 3D cubic MCM-48 mesoporous materials. The results revealed that the formation of the nanosized materials is mainly dependent on the pore structure, interchannel surface properties, and the solvent used in dissolving the metal precursor.
