Three pulse photon echo peak shift study of the B800 band of the LH2 complex of Rps acidophila at room temperature: a coupled master equation and nonlinear optical response function approach
Article Abstract:
A novel method that property incorporates the effect of energy transfer on the nonlinear response functions to simulate the peak shift for weakly coupled, multi-chromophoric energy transfer systems is presented. The method involves the calculation of third-order response functions for energy transfer systems in order to account for the interactions of the laser pulses with chromophore.

Improvement to the Flynn-Wall method of determining apparent activation energies of the thermal degradation of polymers
Article Abstract:
An improvement to the Flynn-Wall method of determining apparent activation energies of the thermal degradation of polymers is presented. The method eliminates anomalies resulting from the influence of a subsequent degradation process on the determination of activation energies from nonisothermal thermogravimetry and so leads to more reliable values.

Measurement of forces between hydroxypropylcellulose polymers: temperature favored assembly and salt exclusion
Article Abstract:
Osmotic stress method and X-ray scattering was used for measuring the thermodynamic forces between hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) molecules at close separation. A close relationship between the interactions of hydrophilic surfaces and the hydrophobic bond is suggested by the results.
