Total internal reflection fluorescence and electrocapillary investigations of adsorption at the water-dichloroethane electrochemical interface. 2.Fluorescence-detected linear diachronic investigation of adsorption-driven reorientation of di-N-butylaminonaphthylethenylpyridiniumpropylsulfonate

Article Abstract:

A combination of steady-state fluorescence, fluorescence-detected linear dichroism and electrocapillary measurements were used for examining the potential-dependent adsorption and orientation of the zwitterionic amphiphile, di-N-butylaminonaphthylethenylpyridiniumpropylsulfonate, I, in the presence of dilauroylphosphatidylcholine (DLPC) at the water-1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) interface. The interfacial fluorescence behavior of mixed films of I and DLPC can be determined by the mass-transport-limited changes in the interface compositions.

Isomerization and polymerization of phospholipids with terminal diene groups in supported films

Article Abstract:

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the isomerization and polymerization of phospholipids with terminal diene groups. The lipids were examined as films spread on a plane solid support. The polymerization of solid lipid phases was found to destroy the crystalline packing of the acyl chains and result to conformational defects between the methylene units. However, it generated well oriented polymerized multilayers on the solid support.
