US: PURCHASING ALLIANCE BY PAINT MAKERS

Article Abstract:

Diamond Vogel Paint Co. of Iowa, Kelly-Moore Paint Co. of San Carlos, California, and M.A.B. Paints of Philadelphia have agreed upon cooperation in purchasing. Within the Paint America alliance, the three companies, major regional paint producers, aim to cut raw material costs. Diamond Vogel Paint Co. has five production plants. The products are sold through more than 80 stores in 12 US states. Kelly-Moore Paint Co. has four production plants, which supply 150 stores in the West of the US and in Guam. M.A.B. Paints are available in 250 paint shops in 20 states in the east of the US and the Midwest.

US: RALPH LAUREN COATINGS BY GLIDDEN

Article Abstract:

From the beginning of year 2001, Glidden will be producing and selling Ralph Lauren paints under an exclusive agreement with Ralph Lauren Home. This follows the cancellation of a similar agreement by Sherwin-Williams, which will still be allowed to market the latex coatings for interiors.
