X-ray absorption spectroscopy study of Cu(sub 0.25)V(sub 2)O(sub 5) and Zn(sub 0.25)V(Sub 2)O(sub 5) aerogel-like cathodes for lithium batteries

Article Abstract:

The structure of copper and zinc-doped V2O5 ARG-like materials is characterized. The use of a synchrotron radiation source has revealed statistically significant X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS)spectra at both vanadium and doping metal K edges. Structural information about the local atomic arrangement of the vanadium and doping-metal site are provided.

Dynamics and lithium binding energies of polyelectrolytes based on functionalized poly(para-phenylene terephthalamide)

Article Abstract:

The chain dynamics and lithium-ion binding properties of sulfonic acid-substituted poly(para-phenylene terephthalamide) is investigated. Based on density functional theory calculations, it is concluded that a stable configuration can be formed where one lithium ion is squeezed between two sulfonic groups on different chains.

Imaging for uniformity of lithium metal surface using tapping mode-atomic force and surface potential microscopy

Article Abstract:

The surface condition of the electrodeposited lithium on nickel substrate is analyzed by tapping mode-atomic force microscopy (TMAFM) and surface potential microscopy (SPoM). The TMAFM presented the morphology of lithium deposits and the SPoM depicted the distribution of the surface condition on lithium deposits.
