(super 129)Xe nuclear magnetic resonance study of pitch-based activated carbon modified by air oxidation/pyrolysis cycles: A new approach to probe the micropore size
Article Abstract:
A series of homologous activated carbons obtained from KOH-activated pitch-based carbon molecular sieve modified by air oxidation/pyrolysis cycles is studied by (super 129)Xe nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). A clear correlation between the pore size of microporous carbons and (super 129)Xe NMR of adsorbed xenon is shown; the correlation indicates that the xenon collision frequency increases with increasing micropore size.

Effect of pressure on the excited-state proton transfer of 3-hydroxyflavone
Article Abstract:
The effect of pressure on excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) is investigated in 3-hydroxyflavone dissolved in four polymeric matrixes. It is shown that pressure effectively suppresses the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer of 3-hydroxyflavone.
