(super 13)C and (super 39)K high-resolution solid-state NMR study of the nonferroic phase transition of potassium hydrogen carbonate. Complementarity between NMR and incoherent neutron scattering

Article Abstract:

The nonferroic phase transition of potassium hydrogen carbonate (KHCO3) at ambient temperature was investigated for the first time by (super 13)C and (super 39)K solid-state high-resolution NMR within the temperature range 200 to 340 K. The complementarity between NMR and incoherent neutron-scattering experiments in the study of hydrogen bonding is illustrated.

Anisotropy in the anodic oxidation of silicon in KOH solution

Article Abstract:

Potentiodynamic and potential-step measurements were used to study the electrochemical oxidation and passivation of Si(100) and Si(111) electrodes in KOH solution. A mechanism that combined surface chemistry and electrochemistry was proposed to account for the pronounced anisotropy in anodic oxidation.

Photochemical coenzyme regeneration in an enzymatically active optical material

Article Abstract:

The photoinduced electron transfer between immobilized thionine and the dinucleotide enzyme co factors NADH and NADPH in a SiO2 sol-gel matrix is reported. The electron-transfer quenching of thiorine luminescence is used to monitor the rate of NADPH oxidation.
