Job amenity and the incidence of double work
Article Abstract:
The effect of granting amenities to workers on their work-related behavior is discussed. Generally, a decrease in earnings for workers enjoying amenities will search for an extra job to support their earnings from the main job. For those without amenities, the tendency would be to resign from the job. Empirical data of farm workers were used to test the validity of these assumptions and to a large measure, the data validated the argument.
