Generation of new enzymes via covalent modification of existing proteins
Article Abstract:
The authors review the works on the chemical approaches for enzyme design. The focus of this article is on the chemical modifications used to alter the catalytic properties of the existing enzymes and to give new catalytic activities to the existing enzymes or to the proteins devoid of enzymatic activity.

De novo proteins from combinatorial libraries
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the diversity, interactions, structures and functions of the proteins found in nature. The focus of this review is the works on the construction and characterization of the de novo protein libraries which can help to compare the newly prepared proteins to the currently existing evolutionary selected proteins.
