Catalytic homogeneous asymmetric hydrogenations of largely unfunctional alkenes

Article Abstract:

The review outlines the true substrate scope for largely unfunctionalized alkenes in asymmetric hydrogenations and highlights areas for which further research is justified. The real significance for the review is that methods are required for asymmetric hydrogenations of alkenes functionalities that are either remote or are proximal only to functional groups that have weak coordinating characteristics.

Use of achiral and meso ligands to convey asymmetry in enantioselective catalysis

Article Abstract:

The authors review the publications on achiral and meso ligands. The topics include the use of these ligands in asymmetric catalysis, and the interactions between the chiral ligands of the defined stereochemistry and sterochemically dynamic ligands within the metal's coordination sphere.
