Cis-1-amino-2-indanol in drug design and applications to asymmetric processes
Article Abstract:
The importance of cis-1-amino-2-indanol as a chiral template in the development of new methodologies for the asymmetric synthesis of organic compounds is described. The scope of applications of cis-1-amino-2-indanol has grown since it acts as a ligand for HIV protease inhibitors and the remarkable properties of the rigid indane platform have been extensively utilized for asymmetric methodologies as well as for the syntheses of [alpha]-amino acids, [gamma]-lactones, sulfinamides, sulfoxides and pharmaceutical drugs.

Alpha, beta-diamino acids: Biological significance and synthetic approaches
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to provide a general view of the methodology for the synthesis of aliphatic alpha, beta- or 2,3-diamino acids and their simple derivatives, esters or amides. Alpha, beta-diamino acids are shown to be useful tools for the study of nature of peptidic entities seeking to control and to modify the behavior of peptidic molecules with a relevant role in living organisms.

Linking multiple bonds between metal atoms: Clusters, dimers of "dimers", and higher ordered assemblies
Article Abstract:
The synthesis, structures and properties of multiple bonds are described. The complexes are sorted into the so-called clusters and dimers of 'dimers', cyclotrimers, cyclotetramers, higher ordered assemblies, and one-dimensional chains are linked.
