Cyclodextrin rotaxanes and polyrotaxanes
Article Abstract:
Comprehensive review of increasing studies of interlocked compounds like rotaxanes, synthesis and properties of cyclodextrin rotaxanes (CD) and pseudorotaxanes compounds is presented owing to their ability to construct highly sophisticated functional molecular devices. Structural evidences for the formation of rotaxane involving axial inclusion of cyclodextrin rings threaded onto a polymer chain and the general rules for the formation of CD inclusion compounds and their different constellations are described.

Ultrafast guest dynamics in cyclodextrin nanocavities
Article Abstract:
The reports on the fast and ultrafast dynamics like solvation, proton transfer and charge transfer in cyclodextrin nanocavities is surveyed for understanding the chemical and biochemical processes that take place in the confined cyclodextrin systems. The created wave packet and the nature of confined water is defined by the degree of confinement, which is reflected by the structure, orientation of the guest, docking and rigidity of the complex and polarity of the cage.

Ultrafast vibrational population dynamics of water and related systems: a theoretical perspective
Article Abstract:
A theoretical perspective of the different aspects of ultrafast vibrational energy transfer in water and other related systems, which are concerned with the association of the change of population of OH vibrational states is presented. The hydrogen bond plays a very important role in chemical solution processes like proton-transfer reactions and in biochemical processes and systems.
