From macrocyclic oligo-acetylenes to aromatic ring carbo-mers

Article Abstract:

A study explores the chemistry of carbo-meric structures by taking an example of cyclic oligo-acetylene which has weaker orbital properties beyond aromaticity namely transannular [pi]-[pi] interactions and homoaromaticity. The findings suggest that the terminal carbo-mer is obtained by C2 insertion into all the terminal bonds and the ring carbo-mer is obtained by C2 insertion into all the bonds of a ring.

Design and synthesis of macrocyclic ligands and their complexes of lanthanides and actinides

Article Abstract:

The macrocyclic ligands have a variety of uses, syntheses, designs and complexes. Complexes with higher coordination number are formed by lanthanides and actinides, which are characterized by the large size of the metal ions and the metal ligand bonds' ionic nature. Uses include radiotherapy, contrast enhancement and reagents for imaging.
