Ionic liquid crystals
Article Abstract:
The thermotropic ionic liquid crystals that are intended to build a bridge between the research in the field of liquid crystals and ionic liquid is reviewed. The field of ionic liquids owes much of its interest to the possible applications of ionic liquids as an alternative for volatile organic solvents in industrial processes, and thermotropic ionic liquid crystals could be used as ordered solvents or organized reaction media.

Development of the chemistry of indium in formal oxidation states lower than +3
Article Abstract:
Indium is used in specialist applications as a component of III-V semiconductor devices, gas sensors, transparent electrically conductive films and reagents or mediators in organic synthesis. The chemistry of this element is dominated by the +3 oxidation state and indium species are creatures of the gas phase, which can be trapped in solid noble gas matrices and detected by their spectroscopic properties.

Structures and oxide mobility in Bi-Ln-O materials: Heritage of [Bi.sub.2][O.sub.3]
Article Abstract:
The lanthanide bismuth based oxides family is reviewed which exhibit a wide diversity of phases with a common [Bi.sub.2][O.sub.3]-related structure, which is either stable or metastable at moderate or low temperatures. The structure of [Bi.sub.2][O.sub.3] is investigated on a single crystal using X-ray diffraction and on powder samples using X-ray and neutron data.
