Laboratory perspectives on the chemical transformations of organic matter in atmospheric particles
Article Abstract:
Literature survey of laboratory studies, illustrating the 'state of science' with regard to physical and chemical processes of organic aerosols is presented. Processes addressed in laboratory studies including determination of uptake coefficients by kinetic techniques, effects of organic matter on water adsorption onto aerosols surfaces, and reaction mechanism for gas-particle interactions is described.

Asymmetric synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients
Article Abstract:
A wide range of stereoselective synthetic methods are used in the large-scale asymmetric synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Asymmetric catalysis, particularly asymmetric C-C bond-forming and dynamic kinetic resolution approaches are being incorporated into the large-scale synthesis of APIs because they are intrinsically more efficient than may stoichiometric protocols.
