Large-scale oxidations in the pharmaceutical industry

Article Abstract:

Some oxidation reactions run in 1980 or later on a scale of 100g or larger or developed for to run on large scale are described. Oxidation reactions are powerful synthetic tools and many such reactions are described which include oxidation of carbon-carbon bonds, oxidation of carbon-hydrogen bonds, oxidation of carbon-nitrogen bonds, oxidation of carbon-oxygen bonds oxidation of alcohols, oxidation of sulfur and oxidation of carboxylic acids.

Nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen in heterocyclic chemistry

Article Abstract:

The nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen in heterocyclic chemistry is discussed. The study shows that the formal total synthesis of D, L-physostigmine, the key intermediate is obtained in the reaction of 4-nitroanisole with 3-pheylpyrrolidin-2-one derivative following the fluoride-assisted ONSH protocol.

Activation of hydrogen- and halogen-bonding interactions in tetrathiafulvalene-based crystalline molecular conductors

Article Abstract:

A perspective on the effort accomplished to direct intermolecular interactions in crystalline molecular conductors based on tetrathiafulvalene derivatives is provided. The focus is on the use of directional, electrostatic, normal and weak hydrogen bonds and halogen bonds.
