Low-energy electron transmission through thin-film molecular and biomolecular solids
Article Abstract:
The electronic properties of absorbed organic molecules are investigated by two-photon low-energy photoelectron transmission (LEPET) spectroscopy. Two photon LEPET is used to study the electronic structure of the absorbed layer, the nature of the electronic states and the interaction between the absorbates and the metal substrate.

Topology in chemistry: Designing Mobius molecules
Article Abstract:
Synthetic approach to the preparation of a Mobius annulene by ring enlargement metathesis using tetradehydrodianthracene as the beltlike pyramidalized component is described. The bianthraquinodimethane unit should favor the formation of the Mobius isomer because it stabilizes the pyramidalized part of the Mobius annulene.

Bis(imino)pyridines: Surprisingly reactive ligands and a gateway to new families of catalysts
Article Abstract:
The development of the chemistry of tridentate, [2,6-[ArN=CR.sub.2][C.sub.5][H.sub.3]N] and its associated metal complexation chemistry is reviewed. The review reveals the capability of the ligand system to accept or donate negative charge by influencing the redox potential of coordinated metals.
