Molecular structure of water at interfaces: Wetting at the nanometer scale
Article Abstract:
Studies of isolated water molecules on metals at low temperature, in particular, their diffusion and aggregation to form clusters, monolayers, and multilayers is reviewed. The structure of water films in the nanometer range of thickness has advanced considerably due to the intensive application of new experimental and theoretical techniques, in particular, electron and photon spectroscopies, density functional theory (DFT), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) calculations.

Molecular simulations of the transport of molecules across the liquid/vapor interface of water
Article Abstract:
A perspective on molecular-scale simulations is provided and the level of accuracy provided for interfacial properties, particularly those associated with the uptake of molecules at the surface is evaluated. The results of molecular simulations are performed with a variety of methods using a large number of interactions potentials.

Sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy on water interfaces: Polar orientation of water molecules at interfaces
Article Abstract:
The experimental findings by sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy (SFVS) on water interfaces are reviewed. It is concluded that SFVS is powerful as the only technique that provides vibrational spectra for water interfaces and it has been used extensively to probe structures of water interfaces of all kinds.
