Noncovalent interactions: a challenge for experiment and theory
Article Abstract:
A discussion of how views of noncovalent chemistry will change in the 21st century is presented. It is suggested that a wide range of noncovalent interactions is extremely significant for the proper function of biomacromolecules. A detailed knowledge of noncovalent interactions is needed to understand the function of biomacromolecules and to assembly various forms of supramolecular species.

Blue-shifting hydrogen bonds
Article Abstract:
The authors review the publications on the hydrogen bond interactions between two species, where hydrogen atom, covalently bound to one of the species, is placed in between the species. The topics of interest include the blue-shifting hydrogen bond, the nature of hydrogen bonding and improper blue-shifting hydrogen bonding.

Structure, energetics, and dynamics of the nucleic acid base pairs: nonempirical ab initio calculations
Article Abstract:
Latest developments in the theoretical calculations of nucleic acid (NA) bases and base pairs are discussed. Particular attention is given to the gas-phase interactions of DNA base pairs. It is concluded that the amino group of NA bases is nonplanar and extremely flexible.
