Synthesis of functionalized bicyclo(3.2.1)octanes and their multiple uses in organic chemistry
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of functionalized bicyclo(3.2.1)octanes and their uses have been studied. The bicyclo(3.2.1)octane is a rigid molecule having a six-membered ring with a two-carbon bridge or a seven-membered ring with a methylene bridge. The conformational mobility of both structures is limited to the chair-boat interconversion which favors the six-membered ring for steric reasons. These compounds are also useful reactive intermediates in many stereoselective transformations and are potent building blocks in the organic synthesis of natural products.

Chemistry of 2-acylcycloalkane-1,3-diones
Article Abstract:
Cyclic beta-triketone chemistry is a a critical focus area of organic chemistry. Several methods can be utilized to carry out 2-acylcycloalkane-1,3-dione chemistry and determine the synthetic applications of the compounds as universal building blocks for preparing biologically active naturally occurring substances. Results of studies revealed the possible applications of cyclic beta-triketones and their derivatives for preparing synthetic and naturally occurring substances for agricultural and medicinal purposes.
