Structure and transformation: large molecular clusters as models of condensed matter
Article Abstract:
Homogeneous nucleation in phase transitions in large molecular clusters has been studied. Principal techniques were computer simulations of spontaneous cluster phase changes and electron diffraction analysis of transformation in clusters from condensing of vapor in supersonic expansions. Results have been contrasted to those of larger systems and interpreted in terms of nucleation theory, of which some aspects are unresolved.

Serendipitous meanderings and adventures with molecular beams
Article Abstract:
A native-born American, came as a postdoc to Germany where he was involved in reviving and rebuilding physical sciences. Aided by impulsive students and guest scientists, he enjoyed adventure in the fields of molecular gas-phase interactions, solid-surface phenomena and realms of quantum liquids and solids.
