Theoretical modeling of interface specific vibrational spectroscopy: Methods and applications to aqueous interfaces
Article Abstract:
Relevant considerations concerning optical experiments at interfaces including the origin and importance of fresnel factors and the phenomenological expression for the measured second-order sum frequency generation (SFG) intensity in terms of the signal field is presented. SFG experimental measurements are growing in number and importance as they are providing valuable information about interfacial structure and dynamics that would be difficult to measure or are not obtainable otherwise.

Photoemission from liquid aqueous solutions
Article Abstract:
Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) photoelectron spectroscopy is applied for the study of the electronic structure of liquid water and aqueous solutions. It is shown that, when a thin liquid microjet in vacuum is used, photoelectrons from the liquid interface could be energy-resolved.
