Barco: all-digital methods extract true color from ultra-bright projectors

Barco Inc.'s Display Products Division offers the ultra-bright BarcoReality 9200 and BarcoReality 8200 Digital Light Cannons projectors. Both models feature serial digital inputs using the 4:2:2 standard and the Pixel Map processor that guarantees resolutions with up to 2,000 x 1,280 pixels. Each projector also offers three 5.8-inch active-matrix LCD panels with 1,280 x 1,024 pixels per panel. The Barco Motorized Convergence Adjustment technology will also be used by both models to facilitate easy adjustment of convergence alignment through on-screen menus.

Plus Corp. rolls out the 9.9-pound UP-1000 projector that incorporates Plus' Optical Engine and Texas Instruments Inc.'s digital light processing (DLP) system. The product provides dimensions of 12.6 x 9.8 x 4.5 inches and 700 lumens of brightness. The UP-1000, which is available with the companion model UP-800, offers such features as a digital zoom with 1:4 ratio and a built-in manual zoom covering 1:13 ratio. To process XGA data, the UP-800 uses artificially intelligent compression technology. The UP-800 offers a brightness of 600 lumens.
