Innovations enable color flatbed scanner to deliver 1,200dpi with 600dpi CCD

Article Abstract:

Cannon's CanoScan FB1200S color image image scanner, which can attain an optical high resolution with 1,200 dpi, is the first flatbed scanner to employ pixel shift technology called Variable Refraction Optical System that uses a plate of glass fitted between the lens and the 600dpi CCD. Utilizing newly developed CCDs with low noise properties, FB1200S features an Adobe PhotoShop 5.0 LE (Limited Edition) capable of handling 12-bit data.

JetSend protocol emerges to give scanners, other products, flexibility

Article Abstract:

The JetSend protocol is a vital tool that ensures the interchangeability of electronic products. Hewlett-Packard Co.'s CapShare910 is one of the first portable scanners in the market to adopt the protocol. The battery-driven manual scanner is highly accurate and features two sensors that allow adjustments to prevent distortion. CapShare910 can also store scanned documents.
