Hitachi Ltd's C52-LC1 BigSlim52 LCD projection TV delivers extremely bright, strong-contrast images with the adoption of a liquid-coupled cooling system. The equipment, which costs 580,00 yen ($4,915) when introduced in the market on Jul 1, 1999, also offers home-theater audio quality with its 8.5-liter bass-reflex woofers and tweeters. Features also include two sets of component inputs that will accommodate digital broadcast devices and digital video equipment.

Sanyo Electric Company Ltd. launched the LP-SG10 liquid crystal projector. The portable A4 system is light at 3.9 kg, yet is quite strong due to its recyclable magnesium alloy body. The product runs on a 120W ultra-high power lamp capable of 600 ANSI lumens, offers a PC card slot and also features a graphical user interface system. The LCD projector also offers digital zoom, a no-show function and on-screen message control.
