Measuring OA Productivity
Article Abstract:
Office automation offers the opportunity for improved productivity in the workplace through time-saving techniques, increased output per individual, and reduction of staff. Tangible improvements in office procedures include decreased travel needs, fewer meetings, fewer phone calls, elimination of redundant tasks, and staff reductions. Cost-benefit analysis of office automation may be approached through either cost displacement in which costs of clerical and outside services which can be reduced are identified, or value added techniques in which improvement in productivity is estimated for automated procedures.
